As was announced in the (cuurrently) latest SketchUpdate entry, on the occasion of the exhibitions Frank Lloyd Wright: From Within Outward and Learning By Doing, the Guggenheim Museum and Google SketchUp invite amateur and professional designers from around the world to enter Design It: Shelter Competition. From now until August 23, you can submit a 3-D shelter for locations around the world using Google SketchUp and Google Earth.

The folks over at the Google SketchUp offices in Boulder Colorado are of course aware of the millions of downloads their 3D application receives every year. There is however also the Pro version of the software, with the added benefits of exporters and the great Google LayOut 2 application.
Google is now taking off 100 US Dollars from the sales price. European and UK customers in turn receive a 20% saving, which comes down to almost the same deal. Read all the details here.
According to the official Google SketchUp blog SketchUpdate, Google SketchUp is now available in a Traditional Chinese version.
This brings the amount of foreign language versions of Google SketchUp to 9 (10 if Simplified Chinese is counted).
This is great news for our eastern community friends and should bring a lot of convenience.
